I know CANNIBAL went through this recently. My new Moser bearings showed up today, and they are different than the ones on the axles currently. (See pic) Anyways, the new bearings have ~1/4" lip on the inside of the bearing (appears to be a seal of some kind). My question is this, my old (1 month ) bearings do not have the lip, and I had to install a seal in the axle tube. My question is this, does this seal on the new bearing replace that seal? I assume so, just seeing if anyone knows for sure. If so, how in the hell do I get that seal out of there? I had a hell of a time getting it in there, had to beat it in with a large socket. I assume use a hammer and a chisel to cut/break it, then pull it out? Anyone removed one of those seals before? I just don't see how the axle will go all the way in with both the seal on the bearing and in the axle. Any input would be appreciated. Did I mention Moser sucks?

They are Moser bearings, but they have the following numbers on the "lip":

RW-902R-2834 GREEN USA

They are Moser # 9507B 1.531 I.D. 2.834 O.D.

I just got my Moser Last week. They sent me Green Pt # RW508ER With Axel seals.

With seperate axle seals, right? The bearing didn'y have that "lip", and the seals are red, correct? If so, I assume the "lip" replaces the seal. (?)

My seals are green in color w/ no lip on bearing. BEST BET.. Call Moser in Am and talk to a teck there Gary

I was just looking at a picture of your bearing, That lip is thick, Do you use the press ring also? This has me wondering.

Yeah, the press ring is still used. (I assume, it came with the bearing). I will call Moser in the morning, but I don't have much faith in their tech support (they lookd up my order, and told me this is the bearing that came in the box)

That o-ring will NOT seal the axle tubes. You MUST also install the Ford 9" Axle Seals concurrently with those new bearings. Also, those bearings that you just received MUST be installed with the LIP OUTWARD toward the wheel or you'll break the bearing. Slide the bearing on, then slide the press ring on, press the bearing on, done.

I don't know if you'll be able to see it or not in his pic, but the new bearing has a seal on the end of it. That "lip" is a seal. I don't see how this bearing will fit with the axle seal already in there, seeing as the bearing I have now bottoms out on the seal. (?)

How wide is your new bearing. I think you have enough room. Have you measured? Stack all your parts together. Bearing slipring and seal. Mine measures 1 7/8 from slip ring bottoming out in axel housing to end of backing plate.

Did I mention MOSER SUCKS ? They gave me the wrong bearing #. The bearing I need is a 9508B 1.531" I.D., 3.150" O.D.. The bearing I got was 1.531" I.D., 2.834 O.D. (way too small), and it has a seal attached to the bearing, where the 9508B has the seal that goes in the housing. I *think* I got the right bearing this time. (Napa #88128R). I will not order/deal with Moser again unless I absolutely have to. (I called three times to ask what bearing I need, and got 3 different answers. Seems to me that there should be only one bearing that fits a 33 spline, non c-clip, 12 bolt axle utilizing stock backing plates and brakes, but apparently there are 5 or 6 different bearings that they use, and apparently no rhyme or reason as to which bearing will come in any one rearend.)

From now on, when I see any "Should I buy Strange or Moser rearend" threads, my answer will be clear....

Ya that's what mine is RW508ER 9508B.
Sorry to here the horror stories about Moser.
