Default M6 rear to A4 rear ?

A buddy of mine has a A4, his locker is going out in the stock rearend. I have a buddy with a another stock rear coming from a M6 car, will the rear end from the M6 work in the A4 ? with no modification ? i realize the gearing will be totally diff, considering his car has 2.73, and the M6 rear has 3.42.

If both rears have the same ABS (three channel with the connection on the middle of the housing) or ABS/TCS (four channel with the connections out by the brakes) then everything will bolt and connect right up without any problems. Bob

Bob knows about rearends...haha, seriously though trust what he says. He has sold a ton of them and is very knowledgeable on this.

when my rear blew up on my A4 i put a temp in from a M6. So went from stock ws6 gears at 3.23 to 3.42s. Now im rockin a built rearend w 3.73s The only thing to worry about is if its 3-channel or 4-channel (TCS). hopefully they match up!!

Thanks Darren! I've always preferred a good rearend! Bob
