Default 4.10's otherwise stock

My stepdad has an 02 ws6 a4. The car has 10k on it so hes not wanting to go crazy w/mods... he has a lid and a gmmg exhaust.. still stock y pipe... He wants it to accelerate quicker down low off the line.. would 4.10's be a viable option?? He only drives the car a day or two a week.. its not a daily by any means.. but he doesn't want noisy gears. He just wants it to feel quicker... Thanks in advance.

for a BOLT ON car only . 4.10's would be a good choice. once people start moving on to stall. slicks.and cammed cars they tend to break more

I'd recommend 3.73's.

That would sorta be a pointless jump in ratios from 3.42's

I feel like the 4:10 gear is a good gear for a manual tranny. I believe the 3:89 gear is better suited for an A4 tranny, but to each his own.

A stock A4 WS6 would have 3.23 gears. 3.42 were for the M6. 3.73 is really a perfect gear for the A4 gearing. Works well for the 1/8th and 1/4 mile.
