GEARS / ring and pinion
#2
AFAIK there's no gears available yet but many are in the works.
Check http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=76 I'm sure someone will post a review or availability when they're out. I know Vengeance Racing is working on one

Are you being sarcastic or what?
The 2010 SS rear tire size is 275/40-20 which is 28.7" tall
A more "standard" size is 275/40-17 which is 25.7" tall
Now fitment and aesthetic issues aside.
That would be like going from a 3.42 to a 3.90 on a 4th gen Fbody.
I dont think that gearset exists, but the effect would be very similar.

Had Nitto's on the car that were slightly shorter than the stock tires.
We then installed the M/T ET Street Radials 303/40/17. They are as you say about 2" shorter which gave us more effective gear. As you point out about a theoretical 3.90.
It helped our NA ET with the shorter tires.
As I said in another post it is butt ugly with the shorter tires. Need to run at the track in the dark. There is a point where the mods are not worth the way they make the car look.
A 4.30 gear with the stock size tire would be ideal IMHO.
