2010 Camaro SS 75W140 for rear diff?

2010 Camaro SS 75W140 for rear diff? I know that GM specs 75W90 for the rear diff. but has anyone tried a heavier weight such as Amsoil 75W140? Other than a slight increase in parasitic drag I don't see any downside.
