Default New 2010 Owner :) **NEW PICS

Have a 2010 2 SS - Black - Inferno Orange Stripes

It is inferno orange btw...haha
miss new booty

to the left

to the right

to the front

to the top?

Love this car, handles great, feels nice on the inside....Blind spots are a B**ch...but i'm getting use to it.

I do have a question, I did a bit of research on the forum and I'm looking to see what mods I can do...or that people have done.

Right away I noticed the car seems to lack a bit of power?...might be, because of the weight. My 01 had Long tubes, ORY, SLP CATBACK(see sig) and would **** and get if you will .

This car does too, but it seems like it needs a little more...haha

I was thinking headers, etc and CAI...for starters, just to give me a few more ponies... I'm still under warranty and am trying to keep that in mind when I'm looking at performance parts.

I thought about a Supercharger, but that may be later on down the road.

Car has 700 miles on it...I probably should wait before modding it.

Just looking for some ideas!! Thanks!

Eric

nice...diggin the wheels, but looks like it could use some wider tires...

i would go with a muffler delete just for a cheap start. you have to remember, the 5th gen weighs in excess of 400 lbs more than the 4th gen, so thats why it *feels* balless.

but yes, a CAI and LT's would be a great start, and if its an auto, a tune right off the bat will wake it up quite a bit because of the TM issues.

edit, just seen its an M6 in your sig.

Have the mufflers removed is an option; my exhaust guy removes mufflers off of the 1 SS & 2 SS quite a bit. Doing so beefs up the sound as if you had longtubes, frees up a few horsepower and sheds a few pounds.

also, from looking at the pics, a small drop would sexy it up quite a bit. along with the wider tires.

yeah those wheel options were the 21 inch...8.5 front 9.5 rear not as wide as I like but I like how they look

I'm gonna have to check them, hopefully the dudes at the dealership didn't put the skinnies on the back haha wouldn't suprise me.

and thanks for the suggestions...deff along the lines of what I want to do.(exhaust and intake)

Congrats, I love the color combo. These cars seem to take a couple thousand miles to "wake up". I know mine felt like a different car around 2500. I have a Roto-fab CAI and have had positive results. Your a little south but check out www.chicago5thgen.com, lots of good info and meets all over the midwest.

Nice looking car, that was my 2nd color combo choice. I've said it before on here and I'll say it again - best bang for your buck is the Texas Speed exhaust combo. About $1600 from headers to tips, all stainless, 1 7/8" headers and 3" ORX with Magnaflow mufflers out back. That system, along with a TSP cold air added at least 50 RWHP UNTUNED to my car! It dyno'd 424 RWHP and it's an LS3. I had the cam, and a few other mods done before the final dyno tune, but I imagine tuning it with just the exhaust and CAI would have added another 10-20 horses.

Keep in mind I did the muffler delete immediately after I picked the car up and didn't notice anything as far as increased power. It did, however, sound fantastic which was all I was going for at the time.

Dark SS - I'm checking that out now as I type...(im talented i know) and thank you for the recommendation I will look into that CAI option as well.

ULTIMATEORANGESS - Thank you...I didn't want to mod it soon, but I miss the sound of my LS1...I know this is a LS3 and it has a lot of potential as it is still stock... I probably wont do head and cam for a while or at all for now....but will consider it.

I was looking to maybe doing a Supercharger...

loober - Thank you!! I am every day

bearcatt - thank you thank you

Scottyk246 - Thanks, I'll check that out also, thank you for the recommendation.

I know when I did LT's and CAI on the LS1 it woke it up quite a bit..that and I had some one tune it. I didn't have cats or rear O2's so that was a must.

I plan on keeping all of the o2's in and try to let the comp do it's own tuning.

on headers, you don't necessarily need a tune right? I mean the o2's and MAF should be able to do most of that right?

Unfortunately, even with a high flow cat the computer will still throw up codes. And for the $200 or $300 extra for cats, you might as well go for the off road pipes and get the tune. And as long as you have the means to get the car safely at least 24" off the ground, the headers and exhaust goes on quite easily. I did mine by myself in less than 2 hours from start to finish. I'm pretty sure TSP is also doing mail order tunes now, so that might be something to look into as well.

86montecarloss - I will let you know for sure!!! and thank you!

Scotty - The tune is what scares me a bit, from what I have heard...they can see if these ecu's have been tuned?

but you are saying even with highflow cats, i'm still likely to throw codes? that is that the o2's are all still there and all the emissions junk?

I guess if i'm that worried I should just hold off .....NAHHHH rather get some more ponies behind the wheels.

Yeah I've never run catted long tubes, always just went whole hog. I did read either here or on another website someone installed LT's with the catted x and his car held off a day or two before throwing the code but it came up nonetheless. Mine came up almost instantly.

Awesome looking car. If I were to get one it would be black with the inferno interior.

My G8 GXP also feels slower than it actually is. 80mph feels like half the speed.
