i went with the 0w-30 Signature series amsoil.

Mobile 1 was the worst rated synthetic out of them all... kinda surprised me because i used to run it in my other race cars before i switched to Amsoil

He asked what we're running. Where was it rated worst? I find that hard to believe.

I run Mobile 1 0w-40 in my cars.

I just use what works for us for the last 8 years.

Whats bad about M1 5W-30 is that its a thin 30 weight. The best way I can explain it it that German Castrol for example is a 0W 39 lets say, M1 would be a 5W 31, still a 30 weight, just thinner. LS motors prefer a thick 30 weight. M1 0W 40 is a thin 40 weight so it works well.

There are a ton of ratings out there.Almost all of them are supporting a certain oil.Looks like $$ changes hands a bit.

Some of you have no clue what the hell you are talking about. There used to be an awesome post about oil somewhere on this site. But I am sure it is gone and buried now.

Don't beleive all the crap you read on the internet. Amsoil is an exellent choice I know people that use it and they get great results from it. Penzoil I don't know about yet. There conventional oil is garbage maybe there synthetic is better.
There is nothing wrong with Mobil 1, ive been running 5w-30 in my LS1 since it was new and it just hit 181K miles. Doesn't smoke or tick and lights the tires up upon request.
