Default ESS Tuning Supercharger Kits

I've forgotten all about LS1Tech since I've been on Camaro5 for so long. I figured I'd revisit my roots and share my new car/setup.

I recently found a great deal on an introductory supercharger kit, and jumped on it. I knew about the company from the BMW world. They develop there own tuning software for BMW's and make supercharger kits for BMW, Audi's, and more. They recently decided to get into the American Domestic market and have developed a pretty badass kit for 2010-2015 SS camaros. To start off, they used a Vortech head unit in their kits (V3si or V7ysi/b), but now they have developed their own proprietary supercharger. I'm the lucky guy who's gotten to test this new blower and work closely with their engineers to provide feedback, data logs, and dyno charts to assist them with their very first Camaro application. The new blower is called the ESS Tuning G3X blower. The G3X uses a custom made Billet wheel, SKF Ultra Precision Ceramic bearings, patented oiling system, extreme precision gears made by Boeing APU, has a 4.3:1 gear and is capable of 75,000rpm. It is capable of flowing upto 2000cfm. It is light years ahead of anything else on the market. Just look at my pics. Its smaller than a YSi-B, is internally lubricated, and requires less effort to spin. It's an extremely efficient supercharger. For example, when I purchased my ESS Tuning kit, I opted for the Vortech V3Si option. I made 660whp/600 running a 95mm pulley, which made 10.5 psi.

Very shortly after getting tuned on the Vortech I upgraded to the G3X. Running a 110mm pulley (much larger), and some E85, it made 808whp/700tq on 14.5psi. Speaking with the Engineers from ESS Tuning, I'm only spinning this blower at around 55,000rpm. I still have 3 more smaller pulleys to test, and I'm already maxing out the stock short block. I'm in the process of forging the bottem end, and then I'll pulley it for 1000whp. It is a bad mother F'er. This thing is F1X territory, yet its the same size as a V3. Check out my pics below, and see their website if you want more info.

They also make a G3 (non billet 55,000rpm) and will soon release the G4X which I'm guessing will be for serious racing applications.

Dude, BADASS!

I too came from BMW's. My other "toy" is an e46 330Ci ZHP ESS TS3 running ~14psi with a 68mm pulley. My M54 is fully built too.

That's impressive numbers for stock internals.

Thanks man. It’s a very impressive unit. There is another G3X out there on a C6 Corvette. Check him out on instagram @grndpas_gs He’s made 1000whp, but turned it down a bit to run 9.7s.

This thing is still going strong. Got it turned up a hair with the 95mm pulley now. Speed limiter (smfh) shut us down at 155mph or 6400 rpms, where it made 913/787 on 17.9#s of boost. Wish we could have seen 7200 and 21psi...

Decided to retire the LS3 while it was still in good shape. Swapped over to a Thompson Motorsports Dart 427 with FED M311 heads. Running the same blower (G3X) here, but it makes less boost because of the larger displacement, better flowing motor. Everything else is the same. It could only make 16psi before it ran out of steam. If it stops raining I'll be dynoing the G4 supercharger on this setup tonight. Hope to break 1000.

You can see on the graph where boost flattens out, because power and torque take a dump. I've already seen 18.5psi from the new blower on the street, but cant get traction to finish the tune. I think boost will keep climbing.

EDIT: Update with results from new G4 head unit. 1/21/21
