I think it is a lot of car for the money but I don't think it is a good investment like some of the collectors are thinking. Look at used ZR1's for example.

It is a good time to be a car enthusiast.

Sir, The '14 Z28 is NOT a used ZR1 'Vette which are a 'dime a dozen'.

Perhaps you should 'rethink' your statement.

I can't see 75k for a new z28 striped down with no ac with only 523hp I'd reather buy the new hell cat for 55k with 707hp or just get the zl1 camaro

The Hellcat's MSRP is approx $60K. Dealers are going to be asking a premium. Figure even more if you want a non-standard option package. If the price were $55K they'd all already be spoken for.

They are. Trust me!! My buddy works at a dealer. If you call a dealer and ask are they, they'll tell you no they're not to get you on the lot. Once there, they'll try and sell you an SRT8 Challenger. They'll figure since there's no chance in hell of you getting a Hellcat, you will opt for a lesser, but still nice car. C'mon...do you seriously think a one-of-a-kind production car with 707hp isn't sold out?

Didnt the first gen Z28's or the soecial order cars originally go cheaper than most of the rest because you were getting less options. For example you paid a little Less cause you did not receive the radio or other options like that?

$75k to me is alot of money for me to swing, maybe it will or maybe it wont be a collector item like that of the older ones. I would guess they will sell for a pretty penny in the future being the first year they were out, not as many produced, making the odd ***** of the group like the red or the grey one be worth $$$$. I would jump on that band wagon though if i had the money to comfortably buy one mainly for the fact its unique and Im a die hard Camaro fan.

Think anyone will make a aftermarket Pontiac version of one? That would be interesting.

I may have missed this, but is there a difference between the Camaro ls7 and the corvette ls7 other than the coil covers?

My engine just got replaced in my ls7 vette with a new one last month and it dyno'd at 469. I'm wondering if they revised the head castings (fixing the other problems) and have added a little flow or something. Typically the ls7 puts out around 448 which of course varies by dyno (these are dynojet figures) but that's a pretty good variance.

The Z28 has a more open cold air intake than on the C6 vette motor. But I do not know if the exhaust is more choked off or not. I put a Z28 intake on my otherwise stock manual 13 SS, and dyno'd 389 at the rear wheels after corrections.

The entire premise of this whole thread was absurd... Autoguide may have reported that they were all sold, but there were leftover brand-new 2014 Z/28s being sold for $60k when the 2015s started hitting lots. Just because 500 cars have been purchased doesn't mean that they are not available to customers; dealers purchase the car in the first place and customers back out all the time.

yep. I just came from Autotrader with and there are many 14/15 models there. Car was an exercise in masturbation for a market that really did not exist. Could have done Z28 and Z28r as others have done. What a waste. The BS condescending attitude by GM proxies was the worst aspect..."Well maybe this car is not for you....F-Off posers" Classic Group Think in action.

Down to high 50s,low 60s for low mileage examples.

Nice car, far too expensive for the Camaro demo though.
