What math did you do to come up with 15k for a new engine? A crate 427?

That's what I have to drop in it . Or I use it for a down payment. I could build one bad *** transam for that since I already have the supercharger. Just saying

Well the camaro is certainly more refined, but a LS engine with 15k on top of it it's gonna haul ***, I'm more of a turbo guy though so I don't know about the supercharger

For me, it would depend on how the rest of the 99 transam has held up over the years... If the rest of the car is still in good shape, then I would drop the $15k in it rather than buying a new 1le.

You can always just buy a "new car smell" air freshener and call it good

After siting around around and really giving it some good thought . There is no way I would spend 40Gs on 386 hp 1le . Yes they are nice , but I need to feed my speed itch , and this car wont do it for me . I will just build my Transam with the 15Grand I have and peal the paint off a 1le . 😝

I'm debating on this too. New ILE or refine my 01SSM6. This is hard!

If you can do both! I have a 98 z28 with a 6.0 heads and cam auto that hauls ***, but I also bought my 1Le black on black back in Feb. and I love it.

Good choice! Two years ago I parked the 2002 Trans Am WS6. Then I purchased a 2014 Camaro ZL1. They sure look great parked together in the garage.

I sold my 98 SS because I was tired of putting a lot of cash in it and it was like burning money. I loved this car a lot but its was time to move on. The big pros of a 1LE vs 99 TA;
-REAR END!!! the stock 5th gen rear will hold a lot better!
-Stock LS3 from factory.
-Car feels a lot more advanced tech. and rigid. handling is scary!
-Brakes!
-Interior and finish quality is 10x better
-Looks really awesome!
-True dual from factory and stock NPP/H pipe will not hold you down until 750hp+
-Easier to work on
-Car will hold his value a lot more
-It has the ZL1 fuel pump (650hp ok)
..I love T/As by the way.

OP I currently have both and even though I love my 1LE I enjoy the 4th gen more. The 1LE is a great car and is alot of fun but it is a heavy car too. I personally would but the 1LE and slowly fix the Trans AM if it was an option
