My father in law has one. It definitely has ***** and IS a very nice car, however it is lacking in it's ability to compete against lower priced cars. Not too fond of the stickers either.

No. It just costs a shitload to have Saleen or Roush's name on your car.

They are boutique cars, American muscle built up so guys with cash and no desire to build a car themselves can go out and get a turnkey job. Saleen is now out of business, so Roush and Shelby have the Mustang scene to themselves. But prepare yourself, because you'll probably be seeing alot of companies doing the same for the new Camaro. It's the hot new kid on the block, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a number of high dollar tuner jobs hitting the market after they've been available for a while.

It's great if you have that kind of cash to throw around at a toy. But the rest of us can get that performance and alot more for far less.

That Hennessey vet is just a terrible copy of the ZR1 vette, it even costs the same, and I don't know about yall, but I know which of the two I would take for that price. Its sad but the ford guys are having to compare the 427R and GT500 to the new SS camaro, and both are quite expensive in comparison. And lets not even get into how big a pig the SRT8 is

I, personally, don't like to lean on the GT500 in Mustang vs Camaro arguments. Yea, it can be a beast of a car with little work done...but it is really too pricey. Once big disadvantage of Ford not having a 2 seater sportscar to compete with the Vette.........they can price out the top dog Mustang as high as they want.

And the tuner Mustangs make the standard GT500 look like a good deal. This is all the more reason why guys like me are ready for Ford to drop a new motor into the standard GT. Having to spend over 40K to get a performance model is rediculous, but I'm sure that having the new SS on the market might help adjust the Ford beancounters' "clarity" a bit more.

Saleen Inc is now out of business. But Steve Saleen himself (after getting kicked out his own company) has his SMS gig. They've already designed a line of superchargers for the new Challenger, and they are looking to design some aftermarket parts for the 2010 Mustang and Camaro as well.

Only problem is that the only companies that go after the GMs are GMMG, Lingenfelter, and now Hennessey for the 2010 (750, 800, and 1000hp packages, check them out) which means a higher price than the Roush or Saleen but it also means much much higher power numbers and more work put into the motor than just popping a supercharger on top.
