Default Payments and Insurance??

I just recently graduated college and I am starting a job Aug 1st as a Multi-Line Insurance adjuster and the loud 2000 WS6 has got to go. My boss said I need a reliable car/truck that gets decent highway mileage and has a good warranty for all of the traveling. I am leaning towards a new/slightly used Chevrolet truck but part of me is not ready to leave the muscle car world just quite yet. I would be greatly appreciative to get an idea of what the payments and insurance would be on a 2010 SS or even maybe a V6 if anyone knows. My credit is awesome for my age or for anyone at that and I have no points against my license and I was just wondering if anyone can give me a reasonable estimate so I dont go into this blindfolded. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Call your insurance company. I'm sure it's over 100 a month.

How can anyone possibily estimate payments for you without knowing what you plan to put down? Also, there's going to be a huge difference in price/payments between a base V6 and a 2SS + RS package, sunroof, A6 trans, etc. You can option a 5th gen all the way up to about $38k, plus tax.

Insurance is another tricky one. You didn't state your age or marital status. If you're under 25 and single, you'll be paying quite a bit compared to us older and/or married guys.

its hard to say but you can bet on well over $500 monthly easy.....and could be looking at $600 with insurance and everything.

go to the gm site they probably have a payment estimator that you can put in your down payment amount and everything on........as far as insurance that would be up to you and your insurance company, that would be almost impossible for us to guess.

I always tell college grads to hold off on new car purchases. Most of them have student loans, CC debt, etc. The worst thing to do at that point is buy a new car. If you must have something more reliable/comfortable, you can buy nice used sedan for under $10K. It would be a much smarter buy than a $30K, depreciate-like-crazy Chevy.

Ask your insurance agent how much your insurance will be. As for payment a good rule of thumb is $20 for every $1,000 financed. As said above, if you can wait to buy a new Camaro or any other vehicle it would be in your best intrest to wait, save a little money, and make sure your new job works out for you. GL with your decision.

I appreciate all the words of advice guys. I dont have any loans as I was on a full academic ride but I have decided that I am going to buy a slightly used F-150 or Z71 and save up for a sports car on down the road. The truck will prove more useful than anything else. Thanks again guys.
