NO!!! Why would we ever have paddle shifters. All we need are powerglides, solid axles, and no A/C.

GM's current paddle system should be in the new Maro, my Gay Uncle Maurice also believes this

What is better than a Maro with an A4? A Maro with an A6/Ferrari-esque paddle shifter system.

Paddle Shifters in the new Camaro?
Y'all,
The technology is there to make an A6 with paddles without costing too much. Why not in a new camaro? It gives the slush box crowd the option of hauling around corners in a more proper manner. However, it is in my humble opinion that these paddles should not be in the current homosexual manner of the current GM "paddles." Let us have a looksee at the gloriousness of Ferrari's paddles and emulate them in the camaro and C6. I will be buying a M6, but I do believe this technology would appeal to a wide spectrum of the American crowd...and to the ubiquitous ricer smurfs that dot our bountiful land.

i want an A6 with a shift lever like the A4 has. you can shift it manaully with a shift lever. i don't want any paddles. i just want it set up with a manual or competition mode so you know you're not harming your tranny.

i wouldnt have one personaly but i think it would appeal to a larger market, so have like the C6 with a A6 tranny and a "Sport" paddle shift mode. i hate to say it but it could bring in some of the ricer crowd that will think its cool. im not saying that i want the tipical ricers that will gives a bad name, but lets be honest it could boost sales and the better the sales the longer we GM will make our beloved camaro. not only this but it could lead to better technology a bigger bader camaro. (and i dont mean in size and weight)

I'm also hoping that the automatic Camaro's will get a paddle shifting, or some sort of manual shift option. I love driving cars with those, it may not be faster but gives a manual like feel when you want it. My 08-09 Camaro will be a bolt-on daily driver, just like the rest of my Camaro's and it will be an automatic for that reason. I love driving manual cars on occassion, but I hate having to shift a car I drive everyday. It's so much easier with an Automatic when your using your car for a daily driver. Paddle shifting sounds like the best option since it's already developed... but I doubt we'll see a Ferrari or BMW type transmission as it's expensive.
Automatic's win races, Manual's impress highschool kids. That being said, Manual's are more fun to drive, and "feel" faster. But in my daily driver, and if I had a race only or steet/strip car I would get a 3 speed auto. I hope to have a 69 SS or something similar when I'm out of school, and that car must be a Manual as it will just be a fun weekend car.

The only ones I have impressed are the A4 guys when I pull away. Stock to stock a M6 will walk a A4...thats a fact. I have never lost to a stock A4.
Back on topic.. I guess the paddles are OK if GM will sell more cars..it dont really matter to me, im getting a M6

I hope it is paddle shifters. Didn't the Grand Prix come out with them, on the steering wheel? I love driving stick, my car is now, but after spending $1,600 on a clutch and hydraulics, I would love an A6 with that manuel shifting options. I could have spent that $1,600 on something better.

i'll take a slap stick auto shifter on the console not on the steering wheel. it just doesn't seem right to have that on the camaro, the vette yes.
I'm getting a 6 speed this time around though.

idk how the paddle shifting works, but I have driven some cars with the + - shifters, and it blows cause if you dont shift, it still shifts the car for you. That sucks when you take it to 6000 and it shifts and red line is 7000, and at 8000 it blows up lol. Idk how the vette works but that would be a let down to have it shift auto before you want to shift..

what car shifted for you? i would think the engine would just bounce off of the rev limiter if you didnt hit the shifter. i drove a bmw w/ the auto shift option thing and it didnt shift for me untill i hit the shifter lol.

I haven't found the paddle shifters in other GM (or other brand) cars to be very useful. As long as the tranny shifts well I'm happy. I'm not sure if I'd go A6 or M6 at this point, but the paddle shifting will not likely have any impact on my decision.
