Nicer interior, nicer driving, more room, better low end torque cruising around. The only part where the C6Z was better was when I went WOT above 3k. This was a 7k mile Z06 too, not something beat. Not the only Vette I drove either...drove a couple C5Z's, C6 GS's, and that C6Z.

I bought my 6th gen with 900miles for 32k out the door last year. The C6Z with 7k miles was 39k before taxes. About 1500-2k in bolt-ons you can have a 6th gen running with a C6Z. Bang for the buck is a LS3 C6 but it's not nearly as nice as car. Like I said before, I had it in my mind I was buying a Vette. Everything changed when I went out and started test driving cars.

Roto Fab Dry- 400.00
Pray ported IM/TB- 550.00
SMG Flex sensor- 160.00
Lightly used CA performance cat deletes- 250.00(80% the gains of headers)
Credits for hpTuners -100.00(2016 cost less)
Reference tune from Brett- 200.00(This is just a base to work off of for the DIY types)
This is all you need for bottom 11's...drag pack will get you into the 10's in good air.

i really dont care what anyone says, there is no way that the 4100 pound ZL1 can out handle the 3200 pound Z06. regardless if the camaro has better suspension......huge weight advantage and better weight distribution by the vette.
not that this tells the whole story but it does tell a decent amount and doesnt take into account the ability of the average driver to perform well with one car vs the other
nurburgring times
2012 C6 Z06 7:22
2017 ZL1 7:29
edit: apparently the 2018 1LE got a 7:16, weighing in at 3850 instead of over 4000.
7 second difference in favor of the Z06 despite having 145 less hp and their being plenty of spots for ZL1's extra power to come in handy. id consider them pretty dead even from a performance standpoint. interior, exterior, comfort, and the rest of the personal preference stuff is where one become better than the other depending on what you look for........never drove a c6z or a 6th gen but i would guess the zl1 will ride much better making it a much better daily driver.

Staging Lane
Not having driven a 6th Gen, I can't comment on performance? But as the owner of a '12 Grand Sport (and an '02 SS, 6spd, convert), the comparison with me has always been the design of the two...C6/6th Gen....
It goes no farther than that!

to this day, it is still tough to beat the performance of a c6z without spending over 150,000. no issues getting close to it, but throw a cam, heads, headers on it for an extra 125 hp and unless you are up against a 911 turbo or something AWD, it shouldn't really be that close at the track
