Disappointed with the Vette's interior space..

Been really wanting to get a Z06 Vette for the last few years but never really had the cash until now..... So the last few weeks I've been test driving a few Z06's, love the looks on the outside, love the power, love the style, but this inside driver side space is rediculously tight.. No leg room and my balls got squeezed after 10 minutes of driving one...I really don't think I can have kids anymore after that last test drive.... I feel like I'm clostraphobic and in a coffen when driving one... So much for a daily driver I thought to myself and after this last long test drive just the other day I just said this Vette stuff just isn't happening for me.... Being 6'5" doesn't help either I suppose..:bang:

How do you Vette guys do it? They are really no better then Vipers in my opinion.. Well atleast your leg doesn't heat up from the hot exhaust much like the older Vipers do..

MY DREAM IS SHATTERED!!!!:bang::bang::bang: Now I must look at the roomier Camaro's or T/A of sorts and boost the hell of it maybe.. I'm just so dissapointed...:chug::chug::chug:

You can try a GTO. They are FAR roomier then both a Fbody and a Vette.

Im 6'5" and fit in my Formula with a little ease and squeeze and a Vette feels better to me even though the interior is FAR smaller but its a much more specific drivers car and the cockpit feel is one of the things that goes along with it.

Well teach me what is not a stupid thread then?...I read some of your threads and posts and I must say I'm not very impressed with your garbage either Pal...:bang: Hey, atleast it's not redundant I think.....I am trying;)

I will look into the GTO's thanks Bball.... I never really thought much about those new GTO's...Hmmmmm?? They look just a little funky to me though unlike the Vette's....Spaceship like or something..

The production ones do look better then the 2009 concept one I showed above..

The Batman Nov 27, 2008 12:15 PM

One reason why i'm getting rid of my vette..

Nimitz87 Nov 27, 2008 01:21 PM

I'm almost 6'5 and have no problems at all fitting in a C6 Z06. or my trans am.

my leg does in fact get hot in the c6 z06 though much like the viper.

how much do you weigh? i'm 205. and easily fit, would have no problems driving a c6 z06 across country.

Meh, it's all about personal comfort levels. I'm 5'4" at 165 and I honestly don't see how anyone taller than me could be comfortable in either my
'99 /TA or '97 Z Vert. I've been in one 'Vette my whole life, a C5, and I didn't like the "cockpit" feel; I felt like I was in a bathtub or something...

Mike75356 Nov 27, 2008 02:24 PM

This thread confuses me. Its a vette not an suv.

fccs Nov 27, 2008 02:31 PM

Yea i think its all just preference, or say you may be a certain height... but don't have long legs or so on. Im 6'1 at 180 and I fit into my trans am perfect, but I have had a few friends in the car as a passenger who are 6'3-6'5 and they get really cramped but they have long legs and just have to put the seat back. In a vette I would say its prob even more cramped because its meant to be a coupe so youd have less room, but if I was taller id def need the seat back because of the low roofs on these cars. Thank god for ttops, which a z06 wouldn't have lol

myk Nov 27, 2008 03:05 PM

So are 2-seater coupes supposed to feel that way? I wonder what a '65 Shelby Cobra 427 feels like inside. Of course, I also wonder what Scarlett Johansson feels like inside, but oh well...

Urban Legend Nov 27, 2008 03:32 PM

Take it to Unique and have Will make seat adjustments.

all they have to do is move the seat back

lol! pretty much yeah...much more confined space, aka the "cockpit"

mmmm Scarlett Johansson:D

I feel that the vettes have MORE space as far as leg room is concerned compared to a f-body.

I'm 6ft and 270 and i've drivin a few C5's and haven't had much problems but lyk myk said it kinda does feel like a bath tub.....

CamaroKidZ28 Nov 27, 2008 04:18 PM

I LOVED the "cockpit" feeling when sitting in a z06. I feel so much more into the car and like.. involved, idk. I haven't driven one for any extended period of time but it didn't seem bad at all.

6"5" 220... It's just that when I sit in the Z06 it's a tight squeeze width wise, legs are close together with no room to move around, relax and breathe.. The leg room length is doable but tight and the width room is just not going to work for me.. Even steering the Vette feels like tight quarters to me, elbow room and what not is limited.. I just can't see myself getting comfortable in it for long periods of time and that's the problem, and for me personally it would not be a joy to drive as a daily driver......

Like I said I am just really dissapointed as I had my heart set on one for a very longest time...:chug:
