Anyone with headers have this issue?? Well, i have replaced my O2 sensors two months or so ago, but today i checked and i have an o2 sensor code in my car again... WTF Well, i checked it out in a shop and they are saying, that my o2 sensor will keep burning out due to having LT headers on... They are saying not to worry about it car will keep running fine as it already does... Anyone here dealt with issue like that? How would i fix that? |
What code and what brand of O2s? |

If I'm not mistaken that's for the rear O2 sensor...which will not affect performance etc...just triggers the SES light. That sensor is to monitor the effectiveness of the catalytic converter. You can either have the rear sensors tuned out of the car, or make your own "mil eliminator". Mil eliminators used to be available...but not anymore. |
Do you have cats on your car? There isn't really much of a need for the post-cat sensors. You could just tune them out. Probably cheaper than constantly replacing sensors. |
Rear O2s can, and should be tuned out once you put headers on... and double that if you don't have cats in the first place. |
Thanx guys, i will tune them out as soon as i get a chance... I do have maganaflow cats right now... |
You can also put in O2 simulators. They are like a fake O2 sensor. Then you don't need to tune them out because the sims will tell the PCM that everything is fine, all the time. |

I had o2 sims up until I had my car tuned. Then I got them tuned out completely. Both ways work great, so either one would be a great choice for you :thumb: |
Same Problem I had :( |
O2 sims have the possibility of throwing a high voltage code which will throw your ses light intermittently. just tune them out |
o2 sims work great I've never threw a code yet plus there around $40 for a used set. that's cheaper than having some1 tune them I'd say |
