Default SS info

Could someone please tell me what to look for in the vin # of a ss camaro to be able to verify if it's a true ss other than calling slp,thinking about buying another ss and do not want to get tricked again,thanks in advance

Just look at the door sticker and it should say WU8

That doesnt sound good. Good luck this time. I dont know what is different in the vin.

There is nothing in the VIN that will tell you it's a SS

Yup! The vin # will come back as a Z/28 just to let you know. The only way to really know if its a real SS is to look at the door sticker and find the code WU8

As mentioned above... Look for the WU8 code inside the door jam.

OR... Just stick to calling SLP with the vin and they'll verift it and give you the car number.

U could go to the Special Vehicle Section and PM Dave Hamberger and give him your Vin# and he will tell u.

Ok, now that OP's question has been completely answered, I don't mind hi-jacking the thread with a semi-related question lol:

My RPO tag is coming off in one corner and I want to keep it on. What is the best/most permanent way to re-attach it?

I would say super glue but just dont make a mess and if u do fingernail polish will clean it up and u can buy the tag new on there web site @SLP.Com.

like everyone said, quikest way is to check the door jamb, WU8 is what you want.
