Default Blackwing vs aftermarket lids

Has anyone ever done a test between all of the aftermarket lids vs the SLP Blackwing?
I've seen tests between all the aftermarket lids vs stock.

My aftermarket SLP lid fits like crap. Is the Blackwing the best lid or is there an aftermarket lid proven to be better?

Yes, I noticed that when I read the test of most of the aftermarket lids.

Just wondering where the Blackwing fits in.

You will not fnd any aftermarket lid performs that much better than another that dictates 'this is better' by a couple/few horsepower.
Couple horsepower is not going to be noticeable.

The big deal with the Blackwing is the Fit/Finish is far superior than any aftermarket airlid. OEM fit. None better in that respect, ..., except the other OEM airlid/silencer package. And flows as well the other aftermarket lids. No baffles, no silencer, smooth flow.

Wanna buy one?!? Got one available, ..., Complete with the AIR tubing & the Oval Boot.

I switched from an slp to a blackwing and the fitment was so much better. The blackwing is a little pricey, but flows very well, seals well, and oem appearance

The Blackwing will not flow any better than any other lid. They are all equal, within a dyno's margin of error, when it comes to power gains. In terms of fitment & construction though, the Blackwing is the winner. Having said that, I've never seen the quality issues on my aftermarket lids that some people seem to complain about. I've had two Whispers and one SLP, on 4 different cars, and they've all fit well and held up perfectly.

I basically want a Blackwing for the fitment and quality.

I have two cars with SLP lids. They seem to fit ok, but on one I can slide a 1/8" thick putty knife right between the lid and a fram filter. The round part of the lid sits on top of the lower airbox/rad core support so I don't see how it could ever be installed to fit right.
After I found this out I took a 4 1/2" grinder and clearanced it a little, it'll touch the filter now if I push on it, but it seems to be warped from heat cycling.

All Lids flow the same. lol

Within a couple horsepower of each other. The important thing to consider when it comes to lids is fitment and that's it.

My FTP 104 fits and seals great. I would buy another in a heartbeat. But I agree on a stock MAF Blackwing is hard to beat if you don't mind paying for it...

It slides right in, no force.

The pic below is the other car, my better car (the SS). The rub mark can be seen but it's not as bad as my Z28. It still rests on the lower part so the plastic clips bend down.
On this one I laid a bead of silicone down on the lid, covered it with wax paper, installed it and let it cure. Then peeled the wax paper off and trimmed the silicone.

Well I was looking at this ebay auction. The seller didn't put blackwing in the title so it was hard to find I guess, either that or the red paint job kept people away because for a week it had one bid, toward the end it was just me and the one guy bidding. It was at $145 for a week, then last night I went up to $200 and he beat me by $2 the last minute.
Kind of relieved I don't have to deal with the red paint job.
