how much does a iron block 6.0 motor weigh with out any accessories on it?

Dont know about no accessories..about 540ish fully dressed.

i know its 70 more pounds than a aluminum block

I heard the same, 70-80 lbs more than an aluminum, just enough to effect your front suspension. People recommend a stouter spring when running an iron block in an fbody.

lol, good luck with this... Magically no one seems to know regardless of the fact that 100's of LQx blocks, short, long and bare have been shipped on here

When I find out, I am selling the info since it is such a rare commodity here.

I'v e always heard 70 or so. Easliy made up with fiberglass and aluminum bolt ons..

Friend of mine shipped a complete Fbody LS1..Engine minus Exhaust Manifolds, complete front accessories on scale was 450lbs.

Ironblock has been recorded to be 85lbs heavier..therefore complete Ironblock LS Engine is 535lbs with the math I learned.

I was told a shorty should be light enough to ship through FedEx Ground, not freight, as actual weight and not dimensional; take it with a grain of your favorite seasoning

I went to ship an iron 5.3 just block and crank with small wood pallet it was 242lbs. I was going to ship it in a brown truck but it had to have a lift gate and to a residence was going to be $303. I drove it there personally for less than $50.
