What is the cooler/radiator in front of car radiator?

I just bought a car and when i took out the radiator cover (the plastic thing that covers the radiator), i found another radiator but much thinner/smaller mounted in front of the actually car radiator. It doesnt look like its stock cz the fan is screwed on it therefore i think the previousowner installed it. What i would like to know is...what is it for?

Im having a very hard time posting the pic on here!!
It basically looks exactly like the radiator but its about %40 smaller. And its got a single fan screwed to it. The fan is disconnected. It looks aftermarket. If it was the AC condensor, then how come the ac works if the fan is disconnected? Besides, why install an aftermarket condensor??

Isnt there a way i can trance the tube or soothing to know its use?

Without pics to verify, it could be the start of an inter cooler, a oil cooler or trans cooler, please try to get a pic for us to help you.

Does the car have a converter?? If so, 100 bucks says its a trans cooler.

BTW...Wrong section

What type of car is this? You never mentioned, but since you are here I have to assume it's an F-body.

Is the car an auto trans? If so, it's probably a trans cooler.

You can trace the lines and see where they lead to. If it's a trans cooler, they will likely lead to the top return line of the stock trans cooler (connected to the radiator), and then on to the transmission. Or, if the installer bypassed the stock cooler, then they will connect directly to the trans lines and NOT pass through the radiator.

Thanks alot for all your inputs guys!! Took the car to the radiator workshop and its like Extreme Turbo Systems said, AC condensor! i really thought it was a transmission cooler! Again...thanks for your inputs!
