Hey guys looking to swap a 5.3 into my 99 z28.. I have a 5.3 vortec out of a 99 1500 I know they will bolt right in I'm basically just looking to see if anyone has done this and has some insight on it like best way to make alternator bracket and whether I should run my ls1 computer or 5.3 computer and if so will it work with my 6 speed? anything else I might run into any advice would be appreciated

I have done this swap but from a V6 (it wasnt worth it.) and you will notice a power difference between the 5.3L and the LS1 unless you get a Aluminum 5.3. That asside, You should run your LS1 computer, you will re-use your LS1 alternator bracket and tap / drill a hole into the block for the bracket bolt.
