Default Finding a Roller

I am looking for a good quality roller to start my first LS Swap project. Right now I have my eyes on a 71 Camaro which is located in Austin. This roller already had a T400 in it just no engine. I think I would like to have a lsX motor mated to a T56 or some other manual transmission. Since this car had an automatic transmission, would it be a bad candidate to switch over to a manual?

I have been looking on eBay and Craigslist, but not sure what all keywords I should be using to search for these cars. Does anyone have any tips for me on finding a good roller for a first LS Swap?

classifieds here, depends on your location too. i typically keep an eye on craigslist and sometimes i see a decent candidate that's reasonably priced. also depends on how much fabricating you want to do.

If you guys were going to take on the ls swap project would you keep the t400 trans or change it for something like the t56?
