Best Exhaust with Cam & Headers

Best Exhaust with Cam & Headers
I am debating on buying the Hooker black heart true dual for a nice sounding exhaust, I have a mild cam 224/224 110 and LT's.
How does GMMG sound with LT's and a cam?
Any other suggestions or feedback?

I had the GMMG on my last WS6 and I loved the sound of it. You will still get the rasp sound from it though. On my new WS6 that I am building I have Kooks True Dual and I am way happier and love the sound better from it than I did my GMMG.

GMMG is now known as Madhammer and still in production.
I loved mine with stock manifolds and cats but it was horrible once I put LT's on. Rasp like a jackhammer. I added cats, a powerstick, and resonator tips to tone it down. Finally I ditched it for a homemade Hooker Maxflow single 3". Saved about 40 lbs. and sounded better even with an ORY.

Right now I have a true dual custom setup on my car and is too loud/raspy. I'm possibly thinking of going to an ORY setup with magnaflow...do you think you would feel a power difference from true dual-ORY?
I have a comp cam 224/228 112 and Jet hot LT's.

Kooks true dual setup is the way to go! Very nice set up but you will need to run the recommended driveshaft loop.

Im giving TSP a shot with there 1 7/8 headers all the way back with the cut out included. It's all stainless and doesn't seem to be a bad price. Some members have had better luck than others on install with the drivers side but im ok with that for the price.

I can't wait to install the new system when I get my car out of storage. This is the Flowmaster set up.

Just a fyi to anyone getting this setup, ds loops that go under are terrible for this exhaust. I dont know if they still recommend the bmr or not but they did when i bought mine and i ripped it out after a day. Complete waste of money as I could not shim it down far enough. Get the MWC piece, it goes over and its much lighter.
If anyone wants a bmr loop cheap pm me, i have one practically NIB

I was dropping my k-member down and noticed that the driver side pipe is just making contact to the DSL crossover. Not good! We haven't shimmed it yet but once the k-member goes back up I'll address it and if I have to clearance the pipe with a hammer so be it!

Even with the adjustment issues, Kooks LTs with TD is the best way to go. Sounds amazing.

here is a little tire baking action. It has LPP 1 7/8 LT headers and ORY, SLP loudmouth 1 catback, with a magnaflow bullet muffler. I replaced the original slp "muffler" because it was crazy loud and raspy, much better now.

The old SLP Dual/Dual cutback with the ring of silence removed is one of my favorites. Cost 7-10 how over a cut out on 450-520+ engines. It is a quiet cutback so folks that like loud cat backs don't seem to like it
It was down 20 hp compared to twin cut outs off the header collectors on my 465 wrhp RS. I think at least half of 20 hp is due to the poorly designed Y pipe set up on the RS. There is a big notch in the Y pipe that nearly cuts it in half to clear subframe cross tie.
On my TA the SLP D/D was down 10 hp from open cut out but this car has a much better Y pile. 408 vs 418 at wheels

Not the most expensive, but I've really been pleased with my hooker aerochamber catback. Somewhat quiet at idle and sounds fantastic when you get on it. Flows well with no rasp. I'm using it with ARH long Tubes and ARH catted y pipe. More of a muscle car sounds which is fine with me. On the flip side true duals are usually a nice choice as well.

That is unfortunate. It is one of the things that has kept me away from getting headers. I absolutely love the GMMG sound. I heard it at the power tour like 10 years ago and bought one that day. This doesn't make my decision to upgrade the motor any easier.
