I decided to do a cosmetic upgrade of the tailites on my '02 SS,I bought some tailites online,(the kind with 33 small LED's)shortly afterwards I noticed my cruise was INOP.Went online&checked out cruise control fixes,tried them all (pedal switches,etc.)-still no cruise! Then after a while I noticed some of the LED's werent working.Reinstalled stock taillites&bulbs-Voila! cruise works again! While on the cruise fixes page it was noted that if your 3rd brake lite is out that will cause a cruise INOP condition since the rear brake lites are somehow tied into the system.The cause&effect are undeniable in my case.
