Is dbw throttle waterproof? I build a buggy with a 08 5.3 and I'm using the factory pedal, it's gonna get wet and very dusty . Are they sealed up or do I need to figure out how to water/dust proof it? |
No one? |
It's not a common scenario. Alot of the off road builders like cable throttles since they can be repaired on the trail and are less likely to have water or dust issues. Having electronics survive in a spot where they'll be exposed to dust dirt and water is asking alot. I'm sure it's been done, but this site doesn't get much traffic from the off-road bunch. |
Google rc car water proofing.. Those guys put thier electronics through hell especially in the winter.. I'm sure you can find something of value to help with your dbw setup.. |
I don't know about the pedals, but I have two truck throttle bodies living outside full time. My Cougar lives outside and I drive it daily. I have driven through super heavy rain and never had an issue. They have been installed since 2015. Andrew |
