Default Insurance on your trans am

I have a 1999 Firebird V6 and I am looking into getting a 1998 trans am ws6, I am 16 but the car is under my parents name, they are 45 years old with no tickets or accidents under their name. If I got the trans am and sold the sixer do you think insurance would go up a ton over the price of the sixer? Has anyone gone from a v6 to v8? otherwise what are you guys with v8 trans ams paying for insurance?

Yes, the price of insurance would go up. Your name would still have to be on the policy for you to drive it.

I am 25 years old and I am paying about $400 for six months but this is only for liability and comprenhensive ooverage no collison. I am willing to take the extra risk since I would probably be paying a hellofalot more.

Well for comparison i pay a little over $200 a month for full coverage on a 2000 Trans Am. But it depends on what company you have and how much do you pay now? Oh and keep in mind the older the car is the cheaper the insurance.

I have the Integra on my insurance as well as my blue T/A and its $153 a month for full coverage. I'm 23 with no tickets.

You can bet your insurance is going to go up. I was 21 when I got the T/A and my Insurance company I had with my old car wouldn't even insure me because the T/A was too much of a "performance vehical". Just get a quote and go from there.

I live in Massachusetts, I am 18, and I pay about $2500 under my parents name. They have never got in any accidents or tickets. Massachusetts is expensive on insurance anyways. pay the difference and enjoy

I pay around 350$ a year but it’s only if I was to be blamed in an accident the insurance will pay for the other party I have to pay for my car repairing.

Seeing as i'm 22, my insurance is $140 for full coverage on my formula. Same general rate as a TA in my region.

I'm 28 but I get my parents to buy my cars in their name, so I can stay on their insurance. Only $100 a month full coverage on both the T/A and the Dodge.

$756 every six month under my mom as the primary driver and me primaraly driving a 98 chevy blazer ($625 for the blazer). That was before my accident back in december.
Now its $1300 every 6-months with my mom and me under the same car (blazer, her as the primary driver)

The cheapest I've found is Mercury wich has quoted both A 2000 Trans Am and a 1998 Blazer for 1500 every 6-months. Me on the Blazer of course.
I'm 18.
