Not only is it faster and the annoying clicking noise is gone but it took care of that 80-90 mph vibration as well. I'm going to post a link to this thread from the vibration thread.

Holy ****! It is way too late here and I just stumbled upon this thread. I made it to the bottom of the first page and saw that it went on for 5 more! LMAO I am a newbie myself, but I think this needs to be a sticky!

I am no one to make fun of anyone, but you do realize it was basicially a tech thread on 'How to Install a Key Onto a Keychain"

Damn I almost forgot about this thread.

So anyone decide to have there keychain ported and polished yet?

I am trying to find a shop but I can't find any that specializes in JDM parts yet.

If it isn't JDM than I need to find a "professional" shop instead of all these amateurs who say they don't know what I am talking about.

CAUTION!! I performed this mod and fried my key rings, now me and the mad scientist got to tear apart the fob and replace them. Vin Diesel was pissed.

^That's a bad looking hand. Something was done wrong. Probably the faded nail polish was the problem.

I just did this mod today. The far key hit the dash instead of the fob. I had to remove the whole dash to stop the banging. Did I do something wrong or is this normal on the 99' models? I might have to take it to the dealership tomorrow if I get no answers on here.

You might have a late made 1998 badged as a 1999. Only the 1998 models have that problem.

Check the inside of your gas tank for what year it was made in (DO NOT REMOVE IT WHILE DOING THIS you could break the brake lines).

If it says 1998 immediately go to a local GM dealership (preferably a Caddy or a Saab dealer) and begin drilling them for a replacement chasis.

Shout a lot and run up to them really fast jabbing your finger in their chest. This was a common defect and it is covered by warranty for a replacement chasis (not the rest of the car JUST the chasis and frame).

If they look at you and pretend not to know what you are talking about, go Incredible Hulk on their ***. That should work. If the police show up calmly explain the situation to them while the whole time mentioning LS1tech.com like it actually means something to them.

Say I'll call GM if you don't get me a new chasis over and over again (it seems to work for Harley owners, personal experience, not joking).

I just wanted to add:
as with any performance mod, it is all about having a good plan. Be sure to fine tune each key and keychain placement as you add them. What you think may be helping you can actually hurt your performance if you arent careful.

This guy tried the key mod, but added too much weight to the front of the chain (yeah, adding extra weight to will keep that fob further away but the consequences are not worth it).

the uneven weight caused his car to pull slightly to the left. he probably would have been fine, but because everyone is dumb over there and they drive on the wrong side of the road it brought him straight into this pole as soon as he took his hands off the wheel to sip his frappacino. Sad really.

just be forewarned. be very careful where you place each peice!

ok im really pissed, i followed all instructions and even read whole thing and tried a little of everyone elses ideas..i put the car up on jackstands in case it turns on and i invited some friends over to watch and drink some beer.. so im sitting here on my JEGS rolling chair trying to get the damn thing off and lord behold the damn thing turns on, i had a buddy under the car removing transmission for easy access and when it turned on it flew off jackstands, unsure as to how but i think it had something to do with the additional kick the key gives when even half way done. so long story short he got hurt, not bad, cars gone it just took off down the road and took a sharp left onto the interstate, and im unsure what to do... let me know if you see the red car in my Avatar cruising down the road, i miss her...

WOW i just wasted like 10-15 mins of my life... you all are idiots, but i loved it lol
