What to do?!!?!

Got some $$ to play with.

I know for a fact I'm getting some 17/9.5/11's

But now the other choice:

Pulley, Long tubes, ORY, and Tune?

OR

Drop Springs, LCA Relocation Brackets, and SA Koni's?

Revelation Z28 01-19-2007 02:55 PM

bolt ons

BananaHead 01-19-2007 02:56 PM

+1 on the bolt ons!

BLKWS.6 01-19-2007 03:02 PM

You will never make an F-body into a freakish handling machine (at least not easily/cheaply), There are 3500 reasons for this. HOWEVER, it is MUCH more handily lent to ripping down the strip like a beast! +1 for power mods!

Starz T/A 17 01-19-2007 04:09 PM

The lowering springs help with handleing some or at least in my car they did, but Id finish doing bolt ons before you worry about a tune

02NHRAtransAm 01-19-2007 04:11 PM

+1 for bolt ons.... but after having my springs i cant stand to look at a stock height fbody.... 4x4 :barf:

echo3313 01-19-2007 04:52 PM

full exhaust, tune, springs

Swang 01-19-2007 05:04 PM

id do suspension, but do the LCA's, a torque arm, SFC's, and then do whatever else you wanna do. its your choice. its not like you're buying a hand held tuner, and all of those mods are lagit, so do whatever you want on your list. i might recommend a rear end cover with the bigger wheels/tires.

I'd say bolt-ons. I did the opposite and went with all the suspension first. My car looks and drives really well......but it's still slow. Wish I would have spent the money on go fast parts.

ls1amit 01-19-2007 06:31 PM

I did bolt ons first. It hauls ass wish it would handle better thought but thats when ever i get some$. shocks make a big difference on these cars let me tell you. so the choice is yours speed or if you need a better ride. My stock shocks were blown and i did the bolt ons first in retro spect i would do shocks first then bolt ons.

BLK02TA 01-19-2007 07:25 PM

Dam its like I wanna drop it with the new wheels but also wanna go fast. However I don't wanna get drop springs and leave the stock shocks.

'Trust' 01-19-2007 07:32 PM

New wheels would help you handle better, if you did those and bolt ons you'd probably handle about the same as you would if you stuck with the 16's and did both of your options.

BayAreaSS 01-20-2007 01:03 AM

Bolt-ons FTW!

BLK02TA 01-20-2007 02:47 AM

So what else should I look into besides LTs, ORY, and a pulley?

Got Ported throttle Body, SFC's, LMII, a basic tune from a local guy, and a lid.

Lucas'02SS 01-20-2007 02:56 AM

From there you could start on the suspension. If you lower it, the best parts for the car will be an adjustable pan hard, adjustable lower control arms, and relocation brackets. Or you could wait even more on the suspension and do a cam. If you have the pulley off you may as well keep going

Finite1 01-20-2007 03:17 AM

nice 2 choice you have.

if it were ME... I'd go with the lts before the suspension, even though I did some suspension before I will get LTs.

ever since I got my catback and did my FTRA, I've been just wanting more...

BLKWS.6 01-20-2007 03:46 AM

FYI, my friend has a cammed 06 M6 GTO. He plays with it often. (415whp/389wtq). He just lowered it about a month ago. I recall his first experience with it afterwards. "Wow, It used to just HOOK, now all it does is spin...I blame it on the 50* weather" yeah...BS. You will limit weight transfer greatly depending on the spring/shock combo you go with. THink about that if you plan on a strip machine.

greysteel_M6 01-20-2007 01:40 PM

Full exhuast and delay the tune for a cam. What's the point of getting a bolt on tune unless you plan on stopping there?

CK1 01-20-2007 02:52 PM

Pulley, Long tubes, ORY, and Tune
