IRS isn't all that bad.
The new Z06 uses it still as well as the Viper plus they make some pretty tough stage 1-5 rear-ends over at DTE. Still not a 12-bolt but not too bad.

Now that is how us reasonable humans show our opinion!
The IRS will hold hp, *** long as you don't put slicks on the car. Slicks'll kill it in a second.
Now I have the Bench Racer tag on my ID because I personally never had ANY experience with slicks on any of my 3 LSX cars I have/still own.
...BUT I also have't broken any of the rear-ends in any of my cars so far.

F-Bodies have very sharp looks. but honestly i enjoy Mustangs a bit more when it comes to practicality and modifying. I don't think the F-Body was engineered all too well, considering the terrible Y-Pipe setup and a rear end weaker than glass. The Mustang has not only the casual consumer in mind but the performance junkie. I tell you what, if Ford drops a 32valve 5.0 into the GT's like the rumors say... I will not hesitate to buy one.

Theres a lot of POS things about both vehicles, but every car has them.
I'd rather have a slow mustang or "not the best" ls1 f body than a perfect fast car that has no flaws and nothing to upgrade. Upgrading and breaking **** is the fun part..with both cars
One of my Mustang buddies came in the shop the other day and was bragging on how he never has to work on his car, but me and my f body friends are always working on something. We told him he just wasn't making enough power!(xpipe, flowmasters, CAI, and 100 shot). The furthest hes ever been in the motor is spilling oil on his hand while changing it. I told him to take the motor apart and make power to break ****, then come back and see us.
