Default Rev limiter

How hard is it on these cars to bounce off the factory set rev limiter? I'm asking this because i lit the tires up tonight and before i knew it i was bounceing off the limiter. I think i need to invest in a shify light cause i've bounced off the rev limiter a few times.

Once or twice isn't going to do a thing. Don't pull a ricer move and just keep hitting it while attempting a burnout and you will be fine.

Hardened pushrods aren't a bad investment later on when you start adding larger mods like a cam and tune and kick that rev limiter up a little higher. But the pushrods in these cars stock aren't that bad and the stock rev limiter is set pretty low from the factory for reasons like this. You'll be allright as long as you aren't hearing any strange noises, but if you bent a rod you'll notice it pretty quickly.

ppl usually bend pushrods with a missed shift, not bouncin off the limiter.

It's called a rev limiter for a reason....it's limiting your revs to prevent damage. Now I wouldn't consider yourself safe to peg it all the time, but it's there as a safety measure.
