Default quick question need a anwser.

ok i just quick raced hit the rev limiter for like 2 seconds stock rev at that. and now my oil pressure seems a little lower its at like bewtween the 40 and 20 mark at ideal at like 2k its at 40. is that normal after it heats up most of the time its a little lower then 40 like 38. its 5w30 also oil in it and do for a change in another few hundred miles. let me know

Hitting the rev limiter for 2seconds doesn't sound "quick" to me.

I'm sure it didn't do anything, Oil might have been just a bit hotter.

High rpm operation/racing will heat the oil more than usual, and result in slightly lower pressure than usual.

oh ok thats what i was thinking but i tend to over react at times. and start thinking the worst. i started the car back up left it warm up it was at about 38-39 what it is normal at for it. and reved it to like 2 grand to see if it would climb and it did right to little over 40psi.so think its good just for safe measures im going to drain the oil and put new oil in and oil filter tommrow. do you think i should go with 10w30 oil instead of the 5w30 since its summer right now?
