I drive my 1995 all the time with the Salad Shooters on it..but there is a little more than a LT1 under the Hood..
The main reason I did the swap is cause I want a current Engine/Drive Train, and the Aftermarket is alot more plentiful.

Chris
and don't you have to have a "bad *** tuner" to make sure the bolt on's work to their fullest?

Like I said, and this is just my humble opinion... but a stock LS1 Z28 with 16" alloys is not very exciting. And the generic cavalier interior doesn't help any.

I like LS1 Camaro's, but without a nice hood/spoiler and/or wheels there isn't much going for them visually.
Now under the hood? Thats a different story.
Here's my Z28 last year.

Such energy
Its not hard for a 383/396 LE2/LE3 LT1 to hit 480-560 rwhp.
Alot of guys on here have done it.
The LS1 is just one step ahead and easier to work on, but any motor that runs 9's on the stock PCM and block is very impressive, just ask Ben Moore.

And 5_02ls1, there are some 98-99 LS1's with full bolt on's only dynoing 320-340rwhp.
Many LS1 guys on here are in the 13's still with several bolt ons.
Many LT1's have hit that mark with full bolt ons and a small cam.
And taking into consideration how crappy the heads breathe and how small an effect a cam change on an LT1 has, I think thats pretty good for a choked out engine... don't you agree smoochkins?

Cavalier interior?..What do you want from a 25K car that runs 13's as far back as 1998?
BTW..Why did you only post a pic showing 2/3rds of a car?
Was that the end of the roll...Or did your battery die?
FAIL

Huh? You have me confused with someone else..
I have no axe to grind against LT1's.
I was busting on your photog skills & why you chose to post a picture in a like that in public forum..
Is that your car?
I remember that article..Good stuff.

Hell no. That aint my car.
And sorry for rippin into ya little bit, it just seemed like you carried a little attitude on that last post, and for no reason...ya know?

Thats an article from Hot Rod Magazine. Its a 94 Z28 LT1.
No harm done, I am a former LSx owner myself
Going to college and getting my degree has changed that, but I am very content with my LT1's power....for now.

thats a badass lil lt1, and if ya want another example, look at brett's 97 ss, once he gets back out to the track, he should be good for low-mid 10's easy NA with a 6 speed. (396 solid roller, made 500 rwhp, around 450 rwtq with the old cam setup, should be closer to 520-530 now). he is brettinator or PEPE on here, i cant remember which

but to the original poster, i would jump on the $7k ls1, that is a badass deal for those miles, now if i could just find a low mileage m6 for that price, haha

Think a couple years back, a used LS1 went for +4G's. my car is almost at 50k now and runs great untuned w/ mods. Very well designed engine! LT1's are trq monsters too and also bullet proof, but cast iron.

wow, theres alot of hate goin on in this thread. of course the LS1 is goin to outdue the LT1 its newer and has better technology put into it, but that doesnt mean the LT1 doesnt have a good platform to go fast. Im with a few others here ive had 3 LS1's and loved them. but am going back to school and cant work full time while taking 17/18 credit hours a semester so I had to settle for a LT1. Still love it and hell its better then a honda, someday i wanna get into another LSX based engine after school but for now the LT1 def. takes care of my needs, just a little tougher to work on but still isnt all that bad.

there shouldnt be hate between them.

without the LT1 GM wouldnt have had the LS1 because they learned from their mistakes.

LT1/LT4 were experimental engines. newer technology was introduced since the L98.

i said it once before:

LT1 is little brother, LS1 is older brother, LS2 and LS7 are the older fat sisters.

LS1 picks on the LT1 and the LS2 and LS7 pick on them both.
