Default thinking about buying a rebuilt z28. what price

A dealer in my town has a 2001 som z28. it only has 34k miles. it has a monsoon system and t-tops it is a cloth interior car and an auto. overall the condition is clean. it was hit in the front right side with everything repaired. I test drove it and had my mech buddy at gm look it over. they are asking 11.5k for it. what would be a good price to offer. i was thinking around the 9k mark or so.

price is all in the eye of the beholder, go with your gut, and if your happy with it, that's all that matters. cheers.

SOM is a very rare color. It would be worth every penny if it was never crashed. Check the seams all over the whole car to see if they are all straight. Open and close the hood and the hatch and the doors, T-tops too. If they all look straight and the car is clean then its not a bad price. Dealers usually come down in price too.

Warranty? Seeing how its a dearership. I know a guy who bought one with 23,000 miles on it and when his oil pump went out if was covered. If it would have spun a bearing he would have gotten a new motor. These are things to think about because **** happens for no reason sometimes and if you can get an extended waranty with it. Offer him 10,000 and don't call him no more. 1/4 of the United Stated is overseas right now and deals are to be had!

Obviously, one of the disadvantages of buying a car that has been “wrecked” is lower resale value. If the intention is to keep the car for a significant length of time, this disadvantage is partially nullified. Something to think about.

was it a salvaged or rebuilt title? if so..the value is a lot less. Just keep in mind, but a salvage or rebuilt car will be the biggest pain in the *** to resell. Also, if you wreck it, your insurance company may not give you the full value because of the brand on the title.

if it is a salvage title its really up to you....you will have a very hard time trying to resell the car when the time comes
