it might be me...but i think you should be looking more into torque than horsepower...

Torque is overrated (I love torque don't get me wrong), sure it makes it a lot easier to make some decisions on mods but for the most part most people are always thinking about hp when they are thinking about the power of the car, if you could launch a rwd skyline (an RTS-T?) w/ 600 peak hp at it's peak rpm it would lift the wheels just as easy as a 600 hp f-body launching in it's powerband. Gearing and strength of the drivetrain is where the problem lies.

If you want to lift the wheels get traction and good weight transfer.

I figured I might add this. 5.0 mustangs can easily lift the front end of the car with a 347 NA. That is less than 350whp with fairly good parts.

BMR SFC, LCA, and Anti Roll Bar. I leave the line at 2k or 2500 rpm, I have left at 3k before but it did not speed me up any.

Mexicans have done it with less than 200. Hydrolics lol.

But no really do you think my setup with SFC and some real sticky tires, and removing the front sway bar would do it? Maybe a cam or 3.73.

this isnt a camaro but it will give you an idea of the posibility of pulling the wheel even i a front heavy car.

this is a video of my daily driven el camino with stock bottom end vortec 350
with massaged stock heads 2.02 intake valves, GM HOT cam, B&W T-10 and 3.73 rear end.

i am over 300lbs and the launch was my first with slicks and it was so violent that it threw me in the seat and my hands came off the shifter and steering wheel, and my foot came off the gas. you will see in the video (its pretty embarassing)

I pulled the front tires on a stock 89 suburban that was heavily loaded in the rear just by alternately stomping the gas then the brake. I bounced so hard the fronts came about 6-8 inches off the ground. No lie.
Moral of the story- loose front suspensionand traction can cause enough upward momentum to pull 'em.
I've done so many stupid things with cars it's ridiculous.

I pulled the wheels with stock suspension, front sway bar unhooked (still in the car), MT 17 inch DR, with the all the mods that i have in my sig, on a stock 10 bolt, with a little 80shot out of the hole. I do have some weight reduction, no rear seats, a/c is out, but other than that not much. The car makes 401hp/389trq to the wheels. I hoping to get them a little higher this spring, added UMI k-member and front lower control arms, and i gonna move the battery to the back of the car and, i am hoping for 8-10 inches off the ground. There is vid in the midwest forum under fastests mn fbodies. Its the black T/A.

troopercar, i too have violated a suburban, 89 350 2wd, i used to get pulled over cause of complaints about a 'bunny hopping suburban' thats what the cops used to say when they pulled me over.
i never got to see how high the wheels came, but it was fun.
also used to do the same in my iraqi taxi before i got the suburban. lol

the video i posted of my el camino shows it pulling the wheels. but the motor is just a VORTEC 350 with some head work and a GMPP hot cam, the real improvement came from the suspension.
i boxed the control arms, plated the frame cause it tore both sides of both rails, plated the lower control arm mounts cause it bent them also, no hop bars, and comp eng. lift bars with M/T slicks.

so if you want to lift the wheels of a camaro i would put every cent into the suspension until you have it bullet proof and then worry about the driveshaft clutch and rear end. after those parts are exchanged for stronger parts you might not even need engine upgrades, cause theres no use having it if you cant get it planted.
