Default How much HP to lift front tires???

Ok, I know first to do this, you need travtion, but once you have the traction, how much HP does it require, on average, to lift the front wheels? I know it depends on the weight of the car too, but there's gotta be an average!!! And, I'm not talking about wheelstanding, just about 1' off the ground!

There are cars that have done it with less than 400. They just need to be set up properly. I believe lifting the wheels it more dependant on the susp./tire setup than sheer power. Mainly because there are 700hp cars that can't lift the tires to save their lives, they can't harness the power, they just spin.

But givin the right set-up i think one can safely assume it will happen almost everytime with cars in the 450-500hp range.

It's all about the suspension. I would say you need atleast a fairly big cam and nice set of heads to do it though...

QA1 R's up front , 4000-4400 Converter, 15" or 16" ET Streets or better, Remove the front sway bar, Throw in some 15X3.5 skinnies just for the hell of it and you will have lift off!!!

It's all about Weight transfer

You should be able to. There are quite a few that have pulled a tire with the stock Decarbons

Jessedale98 have you pulled a tire with that setup in your sig

And get as much weight as you can off the nose of the car. Remove the front crash bar, foglights, washer fluid reservoir, relocate the battery, run skinnies, and remove swaybar of course. All of that stuff is 6-8 ft from the rear axle, and the further a weight is away from the center of motion, the harder it is to lift it. All the little piddly weight stuff (like foglights) does add up when you go crazy with weight reduction.

tires, suspension, and a healthy stall...how high you lift them will be based on how much power you make....good luck

I think I recall The Colonel loading a couple hundred pounds of sand in his trunk to "help" with the wheelies during a photo shoot one day... but I could be wrong.
