Default Track times are puzzling me

well i just came back from the track. Ran a 13.5@108 with a 2.4 60'

The thing that puzzles me is my trap speed is very low. I supposedly have a LS6 cam in my car. Previous owner told me he put one in. Buddy of mine raced a car and lost by 2 lengths and i raced the same guy and won by a car. All i have is mac mid-lengths, mac y pipe and 4.10 gears. Thats it. even the exhaust is stock because i love silence...Shouldnt i be trapping higher if i had an ls6 cam or do you guys think its just an ls1 cam in there??

The thing that should be puzzling you is the 2.4 60' time. Running 108 mph while only turning a 13.5 is not good. You should be high 12s or very low 13s with that trap speed. Get some sticky tires and see if you can get that 60' time down.

I know a guy with a close to stock car with 4.10's running 12.50's

You need to get that 60' down. Thats without a doubt KILLING you.

how are you launching? and also are you doing a burnout or doing what everyone says to do when your on street tires " o just spin the tires a little to get off any rocks and debris, you dont want to heat up street tires."

With my personal experience i think thats a bunch of crap. i tried just "spinning the tires a little" and i came up with the same 60' times that you got. So the next time i went to the track i did a pretty descent burnout and i got consistent 2.0 60's with a best of a 1.97. So basically next time you go heat up the tires a little bit more.

you guys are not understanding. Im on bald street tires, thats why i have a bad 60'. Weather i have a 2.4 60' or 6 second 60 foot, it doesnt matter. Trap speed says it all. Im trapping 108 with gears and an ls6 cam/exhaust..MY QUESTION IS: is 108 too low for my mods??

yea i dont think these guys are understanding your question. razorclaw is aware that his 60 ft is bad, he just wants to know if he should trap higher than 108 with those mods. he could get a 1.6 60ft and still trap 108...60ft only matters for times and hes not concerned with his time

i ran some weird times too (street tires) 12.8 @ 115mph with a 2.1 60ft. practice makes perfect so try, try and try again.

Seems right to me.

I did a 13.1 at 107 with a 2.0 60, all I have is LT's, Catted Y and corsa exhaust, slp "flow pac", sfc's, boxed LCA's and PHB.

The LS6 cam isn't a "huge" difference over an LS1 cam. You've got some restriction in the stock cat back.

Get some suspension out back and some sticky tires and you'll pick up an couple of mph, as well as a better 60' and 1/4 time

A LS6 cam is a stock cam!!! what do u expect like a 120mph trap???? if u had the ls6 heads then maybe it would make more noticeable differance!
