Default Need ideas for picking up a hood

Well im going to go pick up a ws6 hood for my car but I am kind of worried how I am going to keep it in the bed of a truck for a 4 hour drive home. Any ideas would be very appreciated.

FYI, it has been done, ..., it will fit sideways in the back hatch/seat area of the Firebird.

And if it's in the back of the pickup, what's the issue?!? It shouldn't fly out.
And why can't you simply take a couple soft towels & a strap to hold it down?
Is it finished color, or need paintwork anyway?

just get a couple heavy moving blankets and wrap it up. get some straps and time them to the hooks in the bed

Yes its painted. I am not driving my car to pick up this hood, it would cost a ton in gas to do that.

I was planning on moving blankets and a strap but I dont think it would lay flat in the bed of a truck? Hell, maybe it will.
