Default NEED HELP!!! BATT KEEPS DIEING A PLACE CHARGED FOR 1.30min

okay lately ive been having batt problem or is it something else i can onlky leave my key on motor off for a few 30 sec or batt will die also i currently went out to pull in garage and the batt was completely dead after turned over my idles dropped and engine wast pulling back up to regular idle.. so i would have tap peddle..

i have noticed in the mornings or sometime when starting up after warmed my idle would drop lowwer then normal..

Would this be a batt problem or somethin else that is a bigger concern??

Go to Autozone or wherever and ask them to test your battery and your alternator. They do it free.

sounds like a battery connection grounding out somewhere.

BUT it could always be the tricky dying battery. have the battery tested at autozone or some autoparts store.

The battery might be ruined from being discharged. You might look into getting an Optima as they are not supposed to be affected by going dead. From my personal experience they still charge up great after being completely dead.

Yeah but i also heard they cant be charged the same way a regular battery gets charged. Thats what i was told by Autozone since i know nothing about batteries and charging them .

I've have heard that optima's take longer to charge up. It seems to charge up fine on my own charger though. Sometimes autozone is good for misinformation. I like them for german castrol and their autozone rewards card though . Take it somewhere else and see if they will charge it.

1Fr3shblkss,

So, hows that new battery working?

I don't see how the battery could be causing those problems, you don't need a good battery or even have a battery in the car at all for the engine to run perfectly on just the alternator. You said the engine started and idled poorly, that wouldn't be a bad battery. If the alternator was dying that would cause poor idle and wierd **** to happen. If the battery can get the engine started and the alternator is good, the engine and all electrical will run perfectly.

If the battery was dead his fuel trims were probably reset/zeroed out which would cause a rough idle until the computer relearned the fuel trims.
