internal squealing/knocking?

internal squealing/knocking? i just recently noticed some thing squealing/knocking under my hood 
(not a long solid squeal, hard to type it but ill try-"ti ti ti ti"). i figured it was with the a/c since the belt starts slipping everytime after i race at the track. but that wasnt it. i swapped out both pullies with new ones and still squeals. i put my ear close to the engine to try and narrow down where the sound is coming from and its not the belts. it is coming from the intake manifold. my injectors are loud and sounds like a sewing machine so i no its not the injectors. maybe rockers or rods? i was a little low on oil and i added more and the sound cut down about half. maybe i screwed something up running low?
