Car wont start!!!! turns over great, does not fire. checked fuel, ok checked spark, no spark this is a 99 TA it started being hard to start but eventualy it woudl catch. But all the suddedn now it just wont go. Ive been fighting with it for the last 2 days, this is fucked up, its completely stock and it is suppost to be my "new reliable car". What can cause it to not have spark? someone gimme a list of things to check? Thanks in advance. |
like any electric trbl trace the spark back to its source... plugs, wires, coil packs.... battery.... can you give a little more info??? how has it been hard to start??? turned over slow??? turned fast but not catching??? not turning at all just clicking??? let us know... it will be easyer to trbl shoot with this info |

Ive checked all obvious batt is ok, plugs and wires are ok, coils are ok. when it was hard to start it was doing the same thign just turning over but never cought. Then all the sudden it would finally catch, but it quit now. lol |
sounds like pcm trbl.... dang sorry...i dont know much about those... |
The security light is not eliminated is it???? It wouldn't effect the spark, but rather the injectors. How about the SES light? If there is pcm trouble it should of thrown some kind of code. |
Being able to retrieve troubles & read the data stream would help your diagnostics a ton. |
yup agreed you got a-tap? |

might be cam position sensor, seen this problem once before and thats what fixed it, but who knows, good luck :bomb: |
If you have narrowed it down to spark you could check the harness where it connects to the four coil packs on each side. The pink wires should have 12V with the ignition on. I don't think it would be the cam sensor without throwing a code. |
