Default loud banging noise in engine

i was driving and found myself going through a puddle.. water came shooting up and went into the intake and shut my car off. i changed the oil and oil filter and started the car again and began to hear a loud banging noise coming from the engine.. the car was also at a 2500 rpm's even after it warmed up.. i took apart the engine and everything seems to be fine. how can i know if a valve or pushrod is damaged. or any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Do a dry compression test to see if your valves are bent, compression set can be picked up at many hardware stores. Then as far as your pushrods take them out ONE by ONE and see if you can see that they are bent. Make sure you know which way they came out.

Replace the damaged or broken parts. Then trash the intake you have and get a new one.
