Default car dies when I give it throttle

It will idle fine at 950rpms but it I even tap the gas it drops down to around 500 and dies unless I take my foot off the gas, it has a brand new walbro pump with maybe 150 miles on it and has worked flawlessly until now. Im thinkin fuel filter might be clogged and is starving it of fuel. Any ideas?

Thats strange, Could be a badly clogged filter. Sometimes the extra push from an aftermarket pump can really jazz up an old filter. Its obviously not the fuel sock so check the inline filters and the engine compartment one as well. worst comes to worst, it was just some maintenance that should have been done anyway.

It certainly doesn't sound like a voltage issue because it had worked properly.

Oh, and make sure to use a rag around all the fuel lines when disconnecting the fittings/banjo bolts. Otherwise you get a complementary coat down of sex panther...

Oh and your car is tuned to idle at 950, right?

Time to go by your local Autozone and get them to see what trouble codes your CPU has stored. They do it for free and you'll have something to go on.

Congrats on getting back in a f-body

I would check fuel pressure before I yank the pump. It wouldn't be the first new Walbro to crap out

I had this same problem with two cars ive owned. The first was a 91 TA And it turned out to be a bad fuel injector. The other one was my 96 Z28 and that turned out to be the blaster coil.. Both codes read for a cylinder misfire.
