Default Grinding noise coming from power steering pump

I just purchased a 2000 Formula about a week ago. I started noticing a grinding noise coming from the power steering pump. (i think this is where it is coming from) When i opened the hood i saw powersteering fluid was somehow leaking out and was in the engine bay. I checked the fluid and it was full.

I dont know if the previous owner added the fluid right before i purchased the car or what... I am guessing the previous owner let the pump run dry and it was damaged. The car seems to steer perfectly. The constant grinding noise is very noticeable. I would appreciate any help...

Make damn sure NONE of that fluid is getting on your alternator or you will have to get a new one rather soon. That fluid will kill it fast.

If its grinding you might want to try to flush it and bleed it, maybe there's some air in the system. But grinding isn't good.
