Default Bad Backfires and Car Dies? Please come in

Hey guys, this kinda shook my up a bit, i was driving home from work and gave it maybe 1/4 throttle to go in front of someone ready to cut me off, all of a sudden the car did 3-4 loud backfires and the car turned off, i put it in park, checked under the hood, exhaust, under the car and didnt notice anything weird, got in and it started up and i drove home (1 minute away)

i have no idea what happen, i thought my motor blew at first!

Could be alot of different issues. If you can get some data logs on it and check for error codes. Could be a leaky injector, bad O2, MAF issue ect. Sounds like your engine is seeing too much fuel and it is lighting off in the exhaust. Do the cheap stuff first and clean your MAF and check your fuel pressure to see if there is any leakdown, shouldn't be more then 10$ to clean and check that, then go from there.

added an H pipe, full tail pipes, new o2 sensors, and had a few minor problems that were fixed as well.

ive heard that changing o2 sensors can play with a tune

Well they can but I wouldn't say enough to dump that much fuel. If the exhaust flows MUCH better that may have caused it. Was it a mail order tune or dyno/street tune? I'd have them touch it back up and see what it does if you got the dollars.

If it shuts down the car it could become dangerous, I'd be taking a look into what is causing the over-fueling.
