Driver's side mirror question... (quick help)

I have the same problem as I see many others on here do. The bracket that screws the mirror to door(applique) is broken in half... Now i have tried alot of glues and zipties and other BS and nothing seems to last longer than a couple of months.

-Now I am wondering if I can replace this bracket with any bracket of a Gen 3 F-body... or is the camaro's different?
-Or have any of you with this problem found a promising solution that I am not smart enough to think of?

Thanks a lot guys and hopefully this helps some other!!!

i tried JB weld but like you said it only held for about 6 months.... X2 if anyone has a solution but I know the Camaro has different brackets so that is a no go. You would need to get one for the firebird, I tried going to a dealership but they showed me the Camaro bracket which is different and they wanted like $160!

Depending on the plastic, you'll need a special cement. (Some plastics can be chemically "welded" and can approach the strength of the base material.)

If you look on the back of the plastic, there should be a two or three letter abbreviation stamped in to the material. (Sometimes, its surrounded by a triangle.) That will tell you what type of plastic it is and then you can go from there.
