floorboard is SOAKED! whats the deal?
My passenger rear floor board is completely soaked w/ about an inch of water sitting, and is JUST the driver rear, and underneath the passenger front seat also. The seat bottom is also soaked. I pulled the floor mat out and is started dripping alot and it was brown and looked like coke! lol .
It rained super hard here last night, and I know for sure all my windows were rolled up and my rear hatch was latched. I just checked out all the weatherstripping and it looks as good as new.
so what the heck could be causing such a huge leak!?!?!? and why is it brown?
ive never had a problem like this

actually it was on somewhat of an incline, not not going up or downhill, the left side of the car was slanting downhill. I suppose its possible... but at the same time, theres an inch of water in the floor board, and its a dirty brown.
im stumped. It seriously looks like someones emptied a 2 liter bottle of pepsi

Sounds like a heater core to me. Did you have water for coolant instead of anti-freeze? Got cold after it rained and frozen water cracked your heater core? It looks dirty because it's full of rust? Check the coolant level.
Dry the interior out, have somebody sit in the car watching for leaks while you hose it down good.
Good luck.

well i dried out the rear floor board, and ran the heat pretty much all day while in the car. I still feels a little damp, but thats probly from where it hasnt dried out completely yet. I still need to hose it down and have someone sitting in to check for leaks. Ill let yall know how it goes tomorrow. the rear seat bottom is competely dry now after i took the shop vac to it and let it air dry, so im thinking its probly the rear hatch leaking

I did the same thing with the shop vac. Left the car open for an entire weekend and thought it was dry. Started smelling musty. Problem is the stuff under the carpet holds the moisture. As i was pulling it out yesterday there was ice in it. Bout the only way to thourghly dry it it t o completely take out the carpet and dry the floor pan. Water ran all the way to the front of the car through the channels in the floor pan. Hopefully you will have better luck than I did trying to dry it out. i was planning on replacing the carpet anyway, just moved it higher up on the priority list!
