Default New car , ASR BRAKE ABS lights are on .

well i just picked this car up 01 z28 a4 . all stock except flowmaster and lid ..

on my first test drive of it it had a check engine light ( but its a bad cat)
lights for the ASR ebrake and abs all on .

the next day all the lights are gone . then last night they are on again ..

what could be setting off all 3 lights ??

i was thinking its coming from the rear as im getting a ebrake light even when its all the way down .

traction control sensor ? abs sensor ? maybe both ? all lights turn on at the same time when they do turn on .

wanna get this fixed . as its maybe the only flaw on the entire car

BTW - Your car isn't "new." You'll need to have the brake system scanned. The codes should tell you what's up.

car will run for a good amount of time on nice streets with out the lights on but its done it twice were a bumpy road will set them off ..

im guessing its the rear abs or traction control button . or maybe even the ebrake sensor ??

probably a bad wheel speed sensor. definitely nothing related to the e-brake.

Have the codes scanned. They will tell you what is going on.

Sounds like the last resort just became an only resort. Take it to a shop that can pull the codes around here it only costs 60 to put it on the machine. Hope its just as cheap for u.

Or if you are going to have the car for a while, you can invest in a scan tool.

Bet its a bad wheel sensor. With a scan it will tell you which one is bad...
gmpartsdirect.com if you want a replacement piece cheaper than your local stealership

My understanding that the brake light signifies a brake system malfunction - so there should be a code set, which should indicate where the problem is.

a regular scan tool cannot read the codes . i need a tech3 or sumthing of that sort . my neighbor has both but the tech is lent out so im waiting on it ..

i did use his other to delete the ses light . and while i was using it the lights of the ASR BRAKE and ABS INOP were on and the scanner said all codes were clear ..

will check them out with the different scanner .
