Question Using aluminum or tin foil to block engine and transmission heat ??

I want to block heat between the firewall and trans tunnel and the factory sound deadener under the carpet.

I am wondering if aluminum or tin foil would be effective as an insulator between the wall and the stock deadener/ foam? I don't want to use a foil backed deadener because **I don't want the added weight** and I am not sure the glue would hold in this area.

suggestions appreciated.

Yes foil would work, put the shiny side side twards the heat and it will reflect it away.
