if your speedo doesnt work check all your wheel speed sensors on a scan tool if you can. and also check the trans speed sensor..... if no overdrive then its prob in limp mode and not letting it go into overdrive and im guessing its the speed sensor in the trans

Okay. I don't have scanner. Any other way? It just sits there at zero while I'm doin 60 and then it starts bouncin from 0-30. It never goes to 60. It just bounces every once in a while.

Still need help?

Wheel speed sensors have absolutely no relation to the speedometer. The wheel speed sensors are solely for the ABS system. The VSS (Vehicle speed sensor) is responsible for speedometer input and is located in the tailshaft of your transmission. I would begin visually inspecting the VSS and trace the circuit back the best you can. If it's intermittently inoperative, then there is a possible internal short of the VSS, or a short somewhere in the circuits wiring. The issue could also be in your cluster. Hard to pinpoint on this, but a visual inspection is definitely the first step.

Also, if you want to test your speed sensor for proper operation, do so like this: (Pulled from OnDemand)
-Place transmission into Neutral.
-Raise vehicle enough to lift rear wheels from ground, and to allow access to Vehicle Speed Sensor located in tailshaft of transmission.
-Turn drive wheels by hand (greater than 3MPH)
-Using a DVOM (Multimeter), Measure AC voltage between sensor terminals. Voltage reading should alternate from 0.1-0.5 Volts AC. If reading is not within this range, replace VSS.

Hope this helps!
