car won't start!!!

I have a 2000 camaro ss m6 and it won't start. I put the clutch in, turn the key, and nothing happens. The gauges light up like it would start normally, but other than that NOTHING. Any ideas??

Swap your starter relay with a different one and try it.

Go the the relay box in the engine compartment up by the driverside headlamp. Look fo the STARTER relay, it should be about 1 inch square. Theres two fan relays (I think) that are the same, swap a fan relay for the starter relay. It's VERY commo n problem, for the starter relay to be bad or be intermitently bad!

thank you sir you were exactly right! i switched the starter and fan #1 relays and it started right up
is it ok to leave the fan relay in place of the starter, or do i need both fan relays to be working?

Unless you are going to be using your ac constantly I wouldn't worry about it for now. A replacement relay is only about $15-20 dollars.

alright sweet well thank you very much!

well the relay swap worked perfectly for like a day, but then the same thing happened. I went to napa today and bought 3 new relays because i think the fan ones were bad too. I just installed the new relays in place of the old ones and the lights still light up, but other than that still NOTHING. any of you have any more advice? thanks!

get under the car and see if your power and ground wires to the starter have any wear on them. I had a stray cat that liked to chew my wiring harness to death haha. If not could be the replay for the ignition. Poor battery connection producing just enough power to light up the dash. Or worst case your ECU has a bug.

You can also check to see if the relays have been put in correctly, they only go one way. Check to see if the connections that the relay plugs into are clean, check all fuses and go from there. It was running so more than likely it is something simple. Hopefully.

My car did this THEN it has progressed to the turn signals/AC doesnt work. Thought at first it was the turn signal switch then the AC wouldnt work. I have isolated it to my Ignition (ignition switch) because sometimes i can jiggle it and it works or once the car warms up and the volt meter reachers normal, it decides it wants to work.
